George Ezra’s second full-length album Staying at Tamara’s was recently released in March 2018. The conceptual record encapsulates a time in Ezra’s life, where Ezra had a month of free time to travel and chose to spend it in the house of a stranger that he had met on the internet, Tamara. Many of Ezra’s tracks are written from an observational and reflectional standpoint as he mentions in his live show. The months leading up to and immediately after the album release had Ezra set out several European tours to play his new songs off his newest album. In April 2018 Ezra began a month-long 2018 North American Tour with Noah Kahan as an opening artist.

The last show of the George Ezra 2018 North American Tour is at a sold-out Wiltern in Los Angeles. Dedicated fans lineup several hours before the show to get the chance to see one of their favorite artists up close. Songwriter Noah Kahan first warms up the crowd with his 3-piece band. His tunes are emotional and vibey at the same time, setting the mood for the night.

This constitutes a great introduction to the show as a whole. Ezra’s show has a very intimate feel he shares stories about each song and his album writing process while adding in a few comical stories about the times he spent writing the record. Ezra makes sure the audience know how grateful he is for being able to release the second album to a fan base who will appreciate his music and will sing it back to him at shows. Staying at Tamara’s is a stepping stone for Ezra as he gets to share more of his music with a broader fan base.

Songwriter George Ezra is accompanied by a 6-piece band, giving his songs a bigger live feel rather than if it were only him and his guitar. The production that goes into this show is strategically planned out and cannot be overlooked as it adds extravagance to the performance. The crowd is extremely responsive to every song that is played, Ezra leads several sing-alongs during his hour and twenty-minute set. Everyone is moving, dancing and singing at the top of their lungs throughout their entire performance.

A George Ezra live performance certainly exceeds expectations and is an experience everyone should have. Ezra’s vocals are whimsical and his live performance makes you feel more than a studio version already does. Ezra will continue to tour Staying at Tamara’s for the rest of the year, so make sure to catch him at an incredible upcoming show nearest to you.
